Hi all from the Isle of Man,

I bought myself a Convertible Celica ST183, Year: 1993 on Saturday.

It is a Jap import and has 111000km on the clock.

I dont know much about its History as there are no Service manuals etc.

So far I have found a few problems but Im sure they are all fixable:

1/ The window at the back is ripped Sad so far its been siliconed over
2/ The Rear brake lights were not working - fixed by changing the fuse.
3/ The Horn isnt working - I reckon its also the fuse but haven't checked yet.
4/ I have a rattling exhaust - looks like someone has used wire instead of rubber grommets to secure the exhaust :S
5/ 4ws - I have a red light Sad Its strange - when I start the car and turn the wheel, the front/rear move in opposite directions. I drive forward a few meters and the red light comes on - now the wheels are turning in the same direction.

Its a 4 day weekend over here this weekend so Its going to get a good wash/polish and a service.
Should hopefully iron out all problems.

Im not sure about the timing belt but was glad to read its a non-interference engine Smile 3S-GE

So I am looking forward to a good time with the car Very Happy

Thanks

Dave

Hey mate, very nice Celica, looks mint in black!!

You got yourself a bargain, very tidy Very Happy

From the sounds of it, you have a speed sensor broken causing the 4WS light too come on. I think it's The front left wheel well there is a wire that goes into the cv hub, check that it is not broken.

Failing that you could try the fault codes
